Offense

When Illinois goes to two tight ends, it's a run: 11 of 12 snaps at Maryland. Their quick passing game worked on 5 of 6 tries, and on third down they spread out in trips or bunch and drop back.

Defense

On the 30 of 58 snaps we could tag (tentative), Illinois mostly showed a 3-down front with two deep safeties, played Quarters (Cover 4) on 27, blitzed 3 times and showed no disguise. Maryland had 9 completions of 10-19 yards.

Special teams

Illinois' kicker went 2 of 3 at Maryland: good from 45 and the 26-yard game-winner, missed from 52. Their punter's five punts gave up zero return yards. Tentative from film: the return game plays it safe.
